Transfer ownership of your Code Classroom school to another teacher in a few steps.
Before you start
- You must be the current school owner.
- The new owner must already be a teacher at your school. If there are no other teachers, invite one first.
- Only one owner can exist at a time. Once the ownership transfer is complete, your role will change to Teacher. If you would like to be removed, please contact websupport@raspberrypi.org.
How to transfer ownership
- Go to Settings > School ownership.
- Select a new owner and start the transfer.
Note: You can track the status of the transfer from the School Dashboard and cancel it at any time while it’s still in progress. The new owner will receive an email notification, and you will remain the owner until they accept the transfer.
What the new owner does
- Open the email or the in-product notification in your School Dashboard.
- Review the access and responsibilities that come with being an owner.
- Accept or Decline the transfer..
Note: If they decline, you'll be notified and you remain the owner.
Owner permissions
The new owner can:
- List all school members
- Create students, individually or in batches
- Update student names, usernames, and passwords
- Remove students from the school
- Create or import classes
- View and manage every class
- Add or remove students in any class
- Add other teachers to any class
- Invite teachers to the school
Cancel a transfer
Before the new owner accepts, go to settings > School ownership and click Cancel transfer.
